There I was...diligently working on my upcoming presentation for CAPAREA.NET (I hope to have some surprises) and I decided to get up from the desk and take a break. My hotel window view is bright and sunny.

So, I tried to turn on the TV and nothing happened. It took me a while to realize that the power was out. I tried the phone and it was out, too. So, I decided that sitting in my room with no input was probably not a good idea. I took the stairs because I was unsure about the elevators working. I was up on the 9th floor, and let me tell you that walking down a hotel stairwell with lots of lights out is pretty spooky.

As I suspected the entire hotel power was out. So, I took a walk from the hotel down pas Ventura. All the street lights were out and people where outside milling around or on their cell phone. Everybody appeared calm and busy going about their business unless their business was shutdown by the power outage. An hour and a half later power was restored.

Of course, I noticed that when the power was back on the movie studios where a hubbub of activity...I presume they where all working to get their made-for-TV movie about the outage up before the competition.
